THE CENTER OF TOWN, THEN AND NOW
The Dunlap Mercantile is the hub and heartbeat of Tennessee’s most charming town, nestled in one of the most beautiful valleys in America.
HISTORY REBORN, IN 2020
The Dunlap Mercantile is the oldest building in town, built in 1894. During the early 1900s, as Dunlap flourished, so did the Mercantile – it’s where your grandmother shopped and your grandfather tried on Stetsons. Then hard times came, as the sun set on small town America, our families and the Mercantile.
When we purchased the building in 2019, it was in pretty bad shape. We started restorations, bringing back history and helping build Dunlap’s future. Read more about what’s changed, and is changing, here in the new center of town.
